The Windy City Youth Football League (W.C.Y.F.L.) is a 501C3 not-for-profit member of the Chicagoland United Youth Football League (C. U.Y.F.L.). Our program has been endorsed in the past by the Chicago Police Department; various Chicagoland elected officials, and many corporations.
The founding objective of the W.C.Y.F.L. is to sponsor all interested youth from the surrounding communities of Lawndale, Garfield, Austin, Galewood, and Logan Square. To instruct and develop all interested boys and girls in the age group of 5 through 14 in the areas of good sportsmanship, overall fundamentals of football/ cheerleading and its safety requirements. We also encourage positive development of character, we acknowledge academic achievements, and encourage community awareness and participation. Our ultimate purpose is to grow productive, responsible, disciplined African American males and females through our program.
We need your help in achieving our goal! We are reaching out for assistance through contributions/donations or team sponsorship from members and businesses in our community, corporate entities, local politicians, and individuals who believe in the basic fundamentals in positive child development. The monies received from contributions will greatly assist us in defraying the costs incurred purchasing football attire, equipment and transportation to and fromgames.
The monies will also help us to sponsor those children who are not financially able to join the program. The majority of the children who participate in our program come from low-income, single parent households where the mother is typically the head of the household. Often times the children desperately want to join the program, but are unable to join because of the fees involved. We want to be able of offer our program to all children, regardless of their home and/or financial situation. Many mothers rely on our program for the wonderful role modeling provided by our
volunteer coaching staff. For many young men in our program, this is the only contact they have with positive, responsible males.
Our 16th season officially begins August 1, 2011. The Windy City Dolphins would like to extend an invitation to you to come and watch our program in action. Practice is every Monday, Wednesday and Friday evening from 6:00pm 8:00pm. All of our practices and home gameswill be played at Amundsen Park located at 6200 West Bloomingdale, Chicago IL 60639.
